LAST CALL
A World Premiere Drama, 60 Years in the Making
A young man, hiding from the damage of past trauma, embarks on a lifelong journey to discover his place in the world and within himself. Over the years, he must confront the darkness that binds and plagues him and succumb to it, or survive. Will he embrace or squander the gifts of love, friendship, and, most importantly, time?
Our story begins at Jacx, a rundown bar/gentleman’s club in Los Angeles circa 1976. Watergate and Vietnam dominate the news cycle. For young Tom, however, his life centers on his first “legal” drink with his best friend Mike, obligations to his “pre-made family,” and a chance encounter with the “one who got away.” Over the next 40 years, Tom’s life will be forever altered by the events occurring before and after “last call.”
Join us in March for the World Premiere of a new drama written by Tom Jones. While this tale is semi-autobiographical, you may discover your own “light in the darkness at the end of the bar” before we fade out.
Just six performances:
Fridays, March 14, 21 & 28 @ 8 p.m.
Saturdays, March 15, 22 & 29 @ 8 p.m.
at Sawyer’s Playhouse (upstairs at LOFT Ensemble)
